About Jackie's Fund

My name is Adri Ann Wootton and I am the Founder and Director of Jackie’s Fund. I started Jackie’s Fund at the beginning of 2020 when I realized there would be no more vouchers available through Best Friends/No More Homeless Pets Utah. Many years prior to this, I used my computer skills to apply for vouchers for those on a fixed income or who were struggling financially. They loved the cats and wanted to feed and care for them, but could not afford to spay or neuter.

I met with the local veterinarians to see if they would be willing to work with me and provide discounted services. Once that was in place, I applied for a 501 (c) 3 exemption. I was granted that status on April 22, 2020 and have provided a copy. I also put up the first $1,000.00 to get it going. To my surprise and delight, it has gone fast. Jackie’s Fund has done 12 neuters and 17 spays since its inception. It also provided support for a kitten that was found with a broken back who ultimately had to be euthanized.

I created a Facebook page – Jackie’s Fund – in which people can reach out for help. No one is turned away and donations are always appreciated but not required. I, personally, also care for two feral colonies of “unadoptables.” The first ones to be euthanized in a full shelter.

Any grant amount would be greatly appreciated and would help the ongoing efforts of reducing the cat population by one spay and neuter at a time.

Jackie is a real person and is the story behind Jackie’s Fund. Her story can be found on the Facebook Page.
